Methodology
How we source
Every venture on Hydration Break links to a published source: a news report, a press release or an official filing. If we can't source it, we leave it out.
LAST UPDATED
Where does Hydration Break get its information?
From published news reports, company and league press releases, official filings and Wikipedia articles that cite them. Every venture on the site links to at least one source.
What counts as a venture?
A business an athlete founded or co-owns, an investment or team stake, real estate, a film or media company, creative work, or a foundation or charity they started.
How often is the data updated?
Weekly. New deals appear in the newsletter first, then in the profiles. Each page shows its last-updated date; the dataset was last updated 2026-10-28.
What gets left out?
Rumors, unconfirmed reports, endorsement deals with no ownership stake, and anything we cannot link to a source.
How do I report a mistake?
Tell us through the newsletter. We check the source and correct the profile, usually within a week.
Can I reuse the data?
Yes. The full dataset is free under CC BY 4.0 at https://hydrationbreak.co/data/athletes.json. Please credit Hydration Break and link back.
